“It’s the effect you have on people when you pull into the station. The way everybody thanks you. It’s a really rewarding feeling.” This is how Transport Driver, George King, explains the joy he still gets after working with Tiger for 17 years. King is a seasoned driver, who went back and forth between Distillates and Transport for a time, before settling in as a transport driver. He’s a dedicated member of the Tiger team, enjoying driving, the solitude of his role, and the people he gets to work alongside.

King wasn’t on the job hunt when he first had a conversation with fellow driver, Fred Collins, many years ago. “Fred was filling up a bulldozer when I went up to him and asked him about working for Tiger. He told me great things about his job and who to talk to. I left our conversation and drove straight to Tiger to learn more. I’ve been here ever since.” At the time, King was wanting to get his CDLs, and Tiger offered the opportunity to grow in his driving career. Since the beginning, King has fit in perfectly at Tiger.

If you don’t know him by George King, you may know him as “DJ Tank”. An avid music lover, King has been turning tables for over 15 years. When he’s not on the road, King is always finding a way to enjoy music. It’s a hobby that has also turned into a successful work opportunity.
